Furniture Trends You Can Expect to See in 2020
by Nadia Deering
We will be seeing these natural materials reinvented in a major way in 2020. Whether it’s in chairs, sideboards, coffee tables, lighting; these natural materials will be seen everywhere! While rattan and wicker may lightly remind you of your childhood, the evolution is fresh. These textures are a perfect way to blend traditional, bohemian, and coastal interior design styles.
Each year Pantone declares a color of the year. 2020 has been declared the year of Classic Blue. It’s completely sophisticated, versatile and makes a strong statement all on its own. If you’ve been planning to give your home a new look, try going with this year’s color theme. Adding blue pieces to your home can transform it into a more tranquil and serene abode. The blue shade can also add a pop of color to your home without being too overpowering.
We will see a retro throwback to softer lines this year. Expect to see curved sofas galore! Gone are the days that living rooms are television-centric. Today’s living spaces are gathering places for person-to-person connection. The curved sofa is a beautiful, chic way to capture this cultural shift. Softening the angles in your space will open up more seating and encourage socializing.
Cement has been strongly featured in design for several years but it isn’t going away anytime soon. While traditionally this material has been saved for outdoor spaces, inviting it indoors brings an architectural feel with great texture.
We’re loving this trend for a variety of reasons. Whether you fancy a velvet, linen, or leather; the look is entirely customizable to your individual style. A dreamy upholstered bed will instantly increase the level of coziness to any bedroom too! The added comfort of an upholstered bed is perfect for cuddling up with a book, Netflix, or with some breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning.
These pieces can be found at our showroom and available for pickup or local delivery. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
